It's happened almost daily for the last two weeks! I just want a Party Phantom with a Plasma effect. I'm bidding on Outpost mostly when suddenly the mask disappears. I'm making fair offers of a bit under 3 Earbuds and am gradually rising when suddenly the trader sells it to someone who added him with a message somewhere along the lines of, "I'll but it for [my price + 1 key] but only if you trade me immediately right now!!!!" The hijacker then offers it to me for 2/3 Earbuds more. He wasn't even interested in the hat! What's worse, he's ALWAYS got 40 Earbuds and 100 trade messages that begin with, "Buying quick-sell unusuals!!!!"
I just want to buy it to keep it! Why do you sellers insist on rewarding these idiots? And why aren't I allowed to complain about this behaviour? I even try to make a joke about it (
http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/3744957), but that gets removed by someone who also happens to have a bunch of "Buying quisk-sell unusuals!!!!!!!!!" trades.
I want that mask! Quick-sell buyers, get lost!
Sellers, please stop rewarding these delinquents!
That is all.

Do the hats you're offering on have a B/O listed?
Why not just make a good offer right away instead of starting low raising?
How do you know the "hijacker" is only paying 1 key, it seems unlikely that most sellers would accept that right away since 1 key is insignificant at that point.

I usually follow up with the seller to find out what he ended up trading for (it surprises me how many don't mind telling me). Usually it's just a little bit above what I was offering (mostly but not always in unusuals). Probably about half have buy-out prices listed. I also check the last owner's trades and start offering at (or maybe a few keys above) what the current seller paid (it's usually easy to find this trade because most of the time it happened within days of the seller acquiring it).

Simple. The seller is always going to sell to the person who pays more for the item.

If you ask bluedemon, I literally traded that bills for an unusual and donated to RAWR spy crabs. Also donated ~30 keys too? Altogether I donated about ~3 bills and 40 keys, as a trader I'm probably least driven by greed, but still profit is a nice incentive but doesn't drive me like Teeird and Blackened
/edit, as for the buds, you can ask it's owner RickRick, that I was only brokering it to help him get his first unusual :P
