Hi all,

I try to be helpful to noobies, but sometimes even I loose my patience with players like in both the coop docks maps when the crane drivers don't drive the cranes properly/g gun the buggie and just generally mess around.

I have been ingame when Retribution and Kyler threatened banning some of the players, which unfortunately did not work, as players ignored them and continued being annoying, which ruined the game so like other servers, the voteban/votekick would be a good idea.

I know this is planned at some stage.

I recently found out the red buttons outside spawn area can kick players out of cranes,so thats something anyway.

I am not anti noob, as I know how difficult it is to be a noobie, but I really wish there was some short term solution to getting players to either play as we all want them to play or leave....

Though it was up to me, I really think I would be kicking off quite a few players who team attack continually/blow up own team slams after being told not to, etc....

So, could be a criteria for banning players be clarified ? And this would be great to be displayed on screen when joining server.

Like the JSC clan, there is a warning to "crane drivers to your job or get banned"

So at least Retribution/Raydude/Kyler/me,etc can say to players something like "you are breaking this rule...stop or you may be banned"

Like g gunning buggy in coop docks maps
crane drivers do your job or leave the crane when asked
stop the flaming
excessive (open to various meanings) team attacking

Okay, ive been thinking about this for a whille and ive decided to use my 200th post on my first request to become an administrator of SourceOP forums, SourceOP server and the AdminOP server.

i know this is a long shot, but i beleive that i am qualified. I have successfully run a long-term server for over a year, Ive been using adminop and making minor scripts for the half-life/source engine since late 2002. I can be eccentric at times but i am responsible and realize that i will have to watch what i say more as an admin (as opposed to a regular forum user/player)

along with these quallifications, i also use discression when playing on a server. I HAVE NEVER PERMANENTLY BANNED ANYWON, and i dont plan to on the sourceop/adminop server if i am promoted to admin. the most i have ever done was temporarily banned somewon until the other admins had the time to reveiw the situation.

instead of kicking a player for breaking rules how about instituting a fine
and if the player dosen't have enough credits to pay the fine then they get kicked

just got a laser-mouse (logitech MX610) and it is so much better than any optical mouse.

i set my sensitivity on Natural Selection to about 500 and was still able to play accurately. that is how precice this mouse is.

plus it has more buttons (10 button mouse) and a quad-directional tilting mouse wheel

it also has an email and IM alert light-system that i have customized to work with SourceOP posts and Email... so my mouse light turns on every time a post is posted (at least that is on my alert notification)
