I went over to my friend's house to network everything for them (for free, because I am a good person like that) and did everything as flawlessly as I could. The few problems I experienced were from my freind's uncle, who owned the house. He was in serious denial about his router sucking ass, so now my friend gets to play all of his games on a wireless signal with a strength of about 35%, because this guy THINKS he knows about computers but is actually quite clueless.

For example, my friend has gotten nothing but greif since he has been online at that house. For instance, last time I went over there he made the statement "YOU HAVE TO CLOSE YOUR FUCKING FIREFOX DOWN OR PEOPLE WILL HACK INTO OUR NETWORK". This came to a surprize to me, as I am a huge network logistics buff, but I let it slide. But then he came back down to the basement about 20 minutes later screaming (again) "YOU LEFT YOUR FUCKING COMPUTER ON AND NOW A HACKER GOT INTO MY COMPUTER AND DESTROYED MY VIRTUAL MEMORY!". This was amazing to me, as I have never heard of a hacker destroying a concept of data management. It would have made about as much sense if he would have came down and yelled "THEY DESTROYED NTFS AND IT IS ALL YOUR FAULT!!!!!!!".

The amazing thing is that he tried to take my friend's computer (which is actually my computer that I am letting him use until I finish building his) so he could sell it and buy more virtual memory.

Has anybody else had any problems with people trying to steal their shit to buy a scientific concept?

I ordered my Q6600 from newegg about a week ago, not knowing about that they still sold the older B3 stepping. So I sat here and waited through our snow fall (mail couldn't drive because there was over 2 feet of snow on the road and everybodies car was centering out) and through the non-posting holidays, but today I finally got my box.

Looking over it, I didn't know whether it was my new cell-phone or my processor, so I ripped the thing open and sure enough, it was my processor. I peiced over the outside of my QuadCore's blue box and found my way to the product sticker. To my pleasure, right next to the S-SPEC was printed : SLACR. WOOOOO!!!!! G0 STEPPING ON MY FIRST TRY!!!! EAT THAT INTERNET LOTTERY!!!!

I am going to have some down-time when I wipe my computer to get a 64-bit OS installed on this computer, so talk to you all later.

I dislike the song severly because the local radio station plays it nonstop but I think the video is pretty funny. Enjoy.

So ya.. Kaylee was her usual whining, non-stop complaining spamming mode, getting basically no response from anyone on the server, self again.. so I told her to go play with her mangina if she's that bored.. and after about 10 kicks, she/he finally banned me.

Look DF.. you want to give her rcon to kick people, that's obviously your perogative.. but it's not just me and the TSM guys that find her "omg u guyz I'm a girl and look at my score and omg I'm having a bad day and I actually cried" bullshit irritating while we're trying to play a game. Poll the regulars and you'll find that she annoys the shit out of just about everyone. I just happen to have a lower tollerance for incessant narcissistic behavior.

So, if you want her booting people left and right for getting tired of her/his bullshit.. then fine.. but I thought you might want to know what's going on. It's a big internet and there's always more servers, but I like most of the rest of the regulars and we have a good time.. that is, until Kaylee shows up and then it turns into a circus.

This week I added an admin_gag command. When used on a player, it prevents the player from speaking in chat and voice. I also added the ability for admins to hear and see chat from all users, including those on other teams and those who are dead.

The "nextmap" command now returns the exact same thing tf2 thinks the nextmap is (instead of guessing from the map cycle, which typically worked).

As mentioned earlier, reserved slots are now based off SteamIDs which makes them more reliable.

In Lua, I gave lua scripts the ability to add or remove CVARs. I also fixed the e_add command lua script as well as concommand.RemoveAll. The default command description of lua commands has also been improved.

I fixed some things such as snarks (which aren't turned on in the TF2 servers), admin_suddendeath, and admin_scramble.

I just like keeping everyone up to date on what I've recently added or improved. Comments?

I don't know if this is something of yours or completely the fault of hlstatsx, but on the page that shows who's online on each server and what map is being played, it still just says "ctf_well" for the map regardless of whether it's CP or CTF :\

DF, I know that Biggs has talked to you about this before but I thought I would bring it before the community to see what they think.

On certain custom maps (ie. cp_orange_x) there is no real defined timelimit. You can literally play for hours on end with no hope of the map changing. I've researched the problem a little but there doesnt seem to be a whole lot of information on it. There are a few ideas that popped up in odd places about the map not having some sort of point/roundtime tracking entity on the map or no clear goal defined in the map (one that triggers a round end).

I was wondering if there was some sort of code that could be implemented for custom maps such as this that would FORCE the map to change when mp_timelimit expired. It might even force a timer into the map without editing the map file (something akin to the objective timers in dustbowl, hydro etc.)

Hey everyone,

I'm having huge ping spikes on the valve maps server. My ping goes from a normal 30-55 and then it will shoot up to over 400. This usually happens in areas of heavy player traffic. It doesn't seem to be affecting anyone else. What's strange though is that I don't get these spikes on any other server. I was wondering if anyone has heard of this happening. This sucks for me because I play on this server almost exclusively and I would hate to go anywhere else.

Thanks,

Whetzell
