Hey so i was looking at duplex's setup and saw he skinned his character models to the nike vs adidas thing.. cool, but shoes aren't really my game. i had no idea you can skin things and run in most servers...
so i set out to check out what i can liven up tf2 with. holy. crap.
so my question is what kind of custom content do the sourceop tf2 servers allow? custom skins for the player models, obviously since duplex was using them. what about weapon skins? or a payload skin? hud skins etc?
also, i was looking at ways to improve the way tf2 (and all source games) look, and i found 2 commands
r_lod 0 and
mat_picmip -10
can either of those two commands be used with sourceop servers? if not, is there a value that can be used? mat_picmip -3 for example instead of -10
anyway, im sort of a complete noob about this stuff so help me out and stop laughing
edit: since i've got a quad core should i be running with mat_queue 2 or mat_queue_mode 2 ???
also would any of the following commands help with quality:
mat_bumpmap 1
mat_parallaxmap 1
mat_specular 1
cl_new_impact_effects 1
mp_hwmmodels 1
mp_usehwmvcds 1

How does metroid eat if he has a gun for an arm?

First post blahblah.

This isnt my video, some guy from somethingawful made it. If im a giant spamming jackass for this just delete it.

How would you feel if while the map was changing, there was festive music playing in the background.
Example:
http://www.sourceop.com/music/dustbowl.html
This would be a seasonal thing only and probably only on some maps (or maybe just dustbowl ). Consider the point of view from yourself and the point of view from a random noobie. If too many people would be upset by this, then forget it (but I completely understand).
Also, what if instead of every time it was just occasionally? Just an idea, don't be afraid to tell me how annoying/stupid/ridiculous/whatever it is.

What in the fuck is wrong with them, seriously. You pay 300$ for a processor and they give you some 12$ piece of shit that is designed to look cool over being functional?! Who do they think they are?
Now I have always been a fan of aftermarket heat-sinks, but I have never actually switched to one after using a stock. I overclocked my Q6600 enough that it was pushing 85°c, which is alright, a bit hard on it, but acceptable. I have had this Zalman sitting around for a few years and never really used it in the last couple years, because I didn't have the bracket to use it on my LGA775 socket. Anyway, my freind was rebuilding a computer out of a dell rig and needed a heatsink so I sold him my stock one for the price of the bracket I needed (zalman is nice enough to sell these aftermarket). I get the thing all gelled up, clamp it on and checked my temp.
23°c!!!!! AND THIS IS AT 1300 RPM!!! THIS FUCKER WILL PUSH 2200!!!
What is that shit?! You use a 40$ heatsink and increase proficiency by almost 400%!?!? Why don't they ship with these? They can call the processors something like SUPER INTEL EXTREME QUAD DUO and ship it overclocked to shit, and up-charge the processor like 800$
What do they make the stock heatsinks out of, Aerogel?
TLDR: If you are using a stock heatsink, throw it in the fucking garbage and buy a zalman.

my hand restored '88 model m 1391401 just came in from new jersey. omg. it's gorgeous. the tactile feedback from the buckling springs is hot, reminds me of my very first IBM PS/2

I also just bought my G-1 so i'm kindof having a geek-out day.
Edit: and next week im getting two more finnish model m's! international shipping on 7lb keyboards sucks

didnt see this posted maybe I missed it, what is the sourceop tv in the server?
