I joined Steam so I can play Team Fortress 2.
Team Fortress 2 is my main game on Steam, my friends got me into it, took them 2 years or so of nagging me into trying it.
But of course you can get other games, some free to play other require a purchase fee. I got most of my games through the Summer Sale, that's when I joined, this year, and some from the Haloween and Autmn sales.
I don't have most of my games installed (don't we all), cause I have a really old laptop and I'm trying to figure out my new specs, if I'm going to get some in the future.
After a while I got into trading and scoring deals bellow "retail"(bp.tf) prices on the Community market.
Later on I learned the news about particle effects I was not interested. Took me a while to let the feeling sink in, and now maybe I'll be saving up some money to get some.
The only problem I saw with this whole trading thing, mind you looking from the outside in, is that you can't get what you want most of the time. (Talking about Team Fortress 2 trading only, not DOTA2 or CS:GO, haven't played them, don't know about them)
Let me break it down how I see it. You find some cool shiny itmes that you want to buy for yourself with some of your real life savings. Let's say 1 or 2 unusuals.
You either offer by collecting them, putting the keys or promotional items in day in day out, bit by bit.
Or offer straight away what you have in genuine cash.
Thing is, I got the feeling that they both raise suspsision, heck who can blame 'em though. Everyone has a right to doubt and double check and what not. That is why sites like these exsist. My point is that I haven't found a way to get into the "cool" trades, cause it will take me some time to get know across and most of the items I cannot afford on the spot. It will take some time, I'm willing to wait and earn reputation and trust, but I'll get into trading and hopefully at the and collecting the few items I can only dream of right now.
A second year college student, studying IT. But I want to be a graphics designer. Recently I decided that I should learn how to make Source Film Maker posters, and possibly in the future animations. On my own free time of course.
This has been going on for a while so why don't I wrap it up.
Bottom line, I love this game and the whole Steam Community in general. Hope this wasn't too long, and thank you for reading.
Sincerely,
