How do I tell the status of my donation? Also, does being a donating member stop auto team switch?

If you can connect to the server (when it's full) directly through the console (connect SERVERIPHERE) <- without the () then your donation status is okidoki. And nope, donation only grands you a reserved slot. Doesn't prevent team switching or auto-kicked if you were wondering.

thanks for the quick response... what about a way to create a steam or desktop shortcut that auto launches into the server this way?

Depends on which server seeing SourceOP has quite a few.

You can create a desktop shortcut pointing to steam://connect/SERVERIPORT

If you'd prefer having a nice TF2 logo instantly just create a TF2 shortcut and change the URL from steam://rungameid/440 to steam://connect/SERVERIPORT

ok well I just got kicked and it won't let me join when full. I donated on the 4th... any idea when this may take affect?

The reserved slot should kick in once the server does a map change. Are you sure that you gave the correct SteamID when you donated?

I just confirmed my steam id is correct. My in game name is different from my steam name. I used my ingame name for the donation.

As long the Complete SteamID (example: STEAM_0:0:11715230) is correct, it should all be fine.

Also, how much have you donated?

ok the total donation from today and the 4th is now $5.00. Should I just wait it out now or do I need place a cheapskate fix request?

Also, it auto completed my steam id both times.
