An admin by the name of "Butane" just banned me on the TF2 2fort insta server for what I can only assume was getting a single side of the story. I don't blame him, but hey, we all make mistakes.

Frankly the guy reported me was the one that was to be banned (some ass using a botted medic on the battlements, I now don't have the steam ID). Was stalling while looking for the admin request form and distracting his sniping (and only his, to be clear) when suddenly the admin comes on with these threats of banning me. He insists on me accepting the warning instead of allowing me to explain or to give warning to the real problem, and then bans me for: "jerk". I'll be the first to admit I was confrontational about it but anyone would be in that situation.

Frankly, considering my long clean history on this community, I think it's more than fair to request an unban for this effective immediately. I understand that Butane was just doing his job and wasn't aware of what he was doing (because of the one-sidedness), but his aggressiveness surprised me. I was taken aback. Like I said though, I don't blame him. I know there's a lot of good admins on here.

Edit: I should add that I have tried to address the situation with the admin directly but he has not yet responded to my request so that I can communicate with him.

Edit 2: I'll get a demo of the guy doing it when I get unbanned. I got auto'ed to his team and noticed it right away, so it's pretty obvious. I naturally don't expect any actual punishment on the guy without a demo, I'm just looking to clear up this situation so we can all get back to our lives.

You were given the opportunity to acknowledge a warning and did not. You were griefing the user for at least 5 minutes before you were spec'd and observed still griefing him. If you had an issue with the user, you should have contacted an admin (via posting here or using the in-game contact admin system or taken a demo) you were told this in-game as-well. Between you griefing, being a jerk not acknowledging the warning and the short duration of the ban, I see no reason for it to be lifted.

You complained about me after my taunting, then you got autobalanced. Then you complained about getting autobalanced to our "bad" team. Right when you spawned, you came to jump/stand in front of me as a soldier, blocking my view as I tried to snipe. I sent Butane screenshots because I knew you were gonna keep doing it, not the first time some random has decided to troll me after getting pissed. Then you switched to pyro and did the same thing, jumping/standing in front of me, also using the flames to spray in front of my scope. Sent Butane screenshots of that as well.

So I would absolutely love for you to explain in detail how I should be banned for reporting your behavior. But considering your response to Butane was

I had not been doing it for 5 minutes. In fact, I was auto-switched to his team (was not looking for confrontation) and was only on that team for a minute or two prior to your spectating. Regardless, time is clearly not the important factor here.

I already mentioned I was attempting to find the contact admin form.

Finally, I did acknowledge the warning and asked if he would be warned as well. I assume you're Butane and the one that was there, so you know this. I wanted to know the answer because otherwise I would have had to record the demo myself. I was asking out of politeness, not to be a jerk.

From someone who's been around the block with a lot of problematic users, trust me, I'm not one of them. If you still refuse to unban, I'll understand, but respect the situation if you can. Thank you again.

Edit: MikeV: if you were unaware that you were being botted medic then I apologize, but you were most definitely being healed by a botted medic. Your reactions to the situation seemed to give weight to it being yours though (besides the fact that it was only healing you). We'll let that situation sort itself out in the future. General passive-aggressive taunting is not conducive to a meaningful discussion and really has no place on this forum. I intentionally did not mention you by name because I did not want to name the accused without the evidence.

Finally MikeV: if you have a problem with me it's best to take it up in private. Public drudgery isn't going to solve anything and attempting to tarnish people's names on a forum is really exhausting and pointless. I have sent you a friend invite to discuss the matter privately.
