How bout a server that can accomodate 50ppl or more? I know there might be some technical issues, but those aside anyone else think it'd just be a crazy fragfest?

Especially on maps like Goldrush omfg the insanity.

So how bout it? It'd be hella fun, and that's what TF2 is all about

No, 32 is already more than enough on some maps.

Not to mention the fact that you can't exceed the current limit.

and will still not be possible

TF2 limits the maximum number of players to 33 on both the server and the client. So even if the server limit was magically increased (all the internal datastructures only support 33 players), you still have the issue of the client only being able to handle 33.

Remember those really bad CSS games with 256 people?

upcoming ps3 game MAG is 256 players over an expansive map. Something Im looking into since the communication system seems to have been well thought out. (PS3 doesnt get many communicative players in their games so need a system besides mics. Leaves me worrying about communication in Fat Princess.)

better yet, just go download tribes or tribes 2, they are both free now and still have a solid following. Too bad Tribes:Vengeance never took off. That was my favorite.

Tribes and Tribes 2 were my favorite games. It's just not the same playing them so many years later. At least some people still play.

yeah, I tried playing both, but I think I've been spoiled on modern graphics and such. Everything just seems a little sluggish.

I miss the expansive maps and the need for teamwork along with the other unique features that Tribes had. I can't seem to find a game that gets anywhere close to it.

I really don't mind the graphics, but its just not the same playing it 8 years later. :\

If you like FPSs with lots of peeps around, have you ever tried Battleground Europe?(sometimes called World War 2 Online)

Well, it's a shame. TF2 is already a great game.... there's a different element involved when its 50+ players or more. Battlefield rocked in that way. O well, c'est la vie
