View Full Version : Remove map veto for nocrits server?

Apr 25, 2009, 10:09 PM
Since the lame maps that usually get skipped are removed from this server's rotation, I find that the map veto doesn't do much. Plus, the bastards skipped gravelpit today in favor of dustbowl. So I was thinking that maybe the veto thing should be removed. Just a thought

majority of your server didn't feel like playing gravelpit, map veto served its purpose. Majority wins.

Actually it was like 50%

If it's being clearly abused often and by nearly everyone, then yes it should be removed.

But from your example given it did exactly as it was supposed to, chose the map that the majority wanted by vetoing the one less favored by the majority.

It's because I've been busy and apparently I'm the only one who can organize people to fill it up.

And you're totally not the only one with steamcommunity adminship access, with those little pop-ups.

I've been trying to get people to come over there every night.

Sometimes I'll ask on valve 1 if anyone wants to fill up the nocrit server, but people rarely want to do so

Yup, me too pretty regularly. Usually it fills up like that last time we were on together, once people see others playing. I just don't have a good way to send mass messages to get people over there... other than going down my friends list and trying to invite ppl. :p

We had a good showing of regs there last night. Hopefully that will keep up.

I joined a few minutes after retro joined and jumped around as a scout on steel and it filled up rather quickly.

No need to send mass messages IMO, join it, play for 15 and profit.

Yup... like I did today before you guys joined. Was alone for about 5 mins.

suppose I phrased that wrong.. I was referring to earlier comments of sending out Steam grp notices and meant that usually I just join and invite a couple friends and it fills up...
