anyone seen this error?
#1

Server is enforcing file consistency for particles/water_dx80.pcf

every time i try to connect to the valve map server I get kicked with that message.

I tried verifying and defragging and that didn't work. so I uninstalled and reinstalled and I am still getting the error.

any suggestions?

There was an update today. You have to restart TF2.

If restarting, verifying and repair didn't work, here were some "fixes" on the Steam forums that may help:

this is absolute garbage. not only can I not get any items to unlock but now I can't even play the f*kin game.

I have tried everything mentioned in those posts as well as trying reinstalling and of course it doesn't work.

Does valve have a return/refund policy?

Actually I have been able to join a few other servers and play tonight but always get this error on sourceop. Are you sure there are no updates for the server that need to be done?

this was a steam problem. one of the patch servers was reverting peoples patches. i finally got the right version and am good to go.
