EA already does this with some of their games. It's pretty non-obtrusive (at least from my perspective), but some people will get bent over anything.

In Battlefield bad company theres walls of advertising that you will randomly see, e.x. you will be driving around in a tank and you will suddenly see a sign for mirrors edge.

Valve put ads in CS 1.6 a couple of years ago which was met with some hostility. But eventually someone on fpsbanana came up with a way to replace the ads with any banner or picture that you wanted. lol
