Just go 9v9 highlander.
That way you might actually proof something.
12v12 with no class restriction is going to end up with very boring spam fest or turtle fest.
Maybe you might even find it refreshing to not to go with the same ol setup.

Playing 16 v 16 isn't to prove skill, though. Most of us play on these servers for fun. If you want to prove skill, you'll be better off in a smaller server. And like Snarf mentioned, getting 24 players together will be more difficult than you might think.

It does prove skill, the kind of skill that I prefer that doesn't exist on the all maps server: communication and teamwork. And you are wrong those servers are the ONLY servers we play on and the style of play we are accustomed to. I am only responsible for 12 players not 24. I will have no issues fielding a team.

That will be the last detail that I surrender to. I don't want to hear any more whining or petty excuses. If you are serious about this then there it is. We can discuss dates and rosters next.
