and i would assume 1 server can actually handle multiple simultaneous games, am i wrong with that assumption?

This is correct. No server browser. By default, you can't even use the connect command to connect to a specific server. It will reject you saying that it requires lobby reservation.
There is a workaround so that the connect command works but then if a party from a lobby gets assigned to the server it takes presidence and nobody else can join until the
entire party has left.

You have to run mutliple instance of srcds.

I imagine getting them all on your friends list and joining a lobby with them would work, doesn't really matter which server you play on at this point.
Unless that thing I just posted actually works (I'm at work. /sadface)

With 3 players per game with the extra random chances of them being complete strangers, I'd say we stick to tf2 for the whole "social community" thingie.

Also, I'm not running any dedicated servers right now. No use in doing it at this moment really. My Linux box is the only one with CPU power to spare and it has too old of a version of glibc anyways.
