not sure about the idea being bad....shitty pcs playing games at full graphical capabilities with no lag and even having console games available too is a winner of an idea...although as the mythbusters say possible but not plausible to run it as they claim it will run would cost more than just upgrading your pc, or it will run exactly the way OZA says. Must say i had my hopes up when i read the title, i thought they found a way to let console gamers play with us :/
in order for it to run properly they would need to upgrade all of the connections for all of the ISPs to full optical, right into your house.
The technological transition itself would cost tens of billions.

I would love for the consolers to be able to play with us, just so they can find out just how far their thumbjoy Halo skills go against those of us who have been playing FPS games since they were babies.

There's so much hate and negativity in this thread
If it works the way they say (which is better or they'll look really stupid) then everyone here's going to be on board (expect maybe Omega) or unless it costs like 500 bucks a month ;p.

This sounds badass but it might not go through due to many reasons. Here's what the fans obviously want. Just to pay for the games themselves, the service should be free, if not then it should only be 10 bucks a month at max as you'll probably still have to use your internet connection meaning your still paying for that bill as well. The resolution of the game should match those of us with HDTV's meaning 720p and 1080p supported fully. The stream must look like you are playing a game, NOT A STREAM.
Has to be tons of games available, like the way there is on Steam.
From my perspective, all of this is not going to happen, it's just better to upgrade your PC every couple of years.

As for having a lot of games only EA and Ubisoft are on-board at the moment.
If they say they will deliver it the way they say then I trust that's how it will be. I believe the technology exists we just need to see it happen and this could / probably is it.

Their demo did reveal a rather nice interface though. I'm curious how it would hold up with multiplayer games where any sort of command lag/visual lag is going to be more critical to the outcome.

If they do it right the visual lag will be the only lag in multilayer (since they are all being stored and rendered at a central location)
