Budget constraints are what I would worry about. I know the TF2 team would in a heartbeat but I don't think that Valve would sink the extra money into something that would essentially only serve to make existing fans happy and not have any secure promise of a return on the investment.
Unless they paid him for his Meet the Team video in advance, or he wanted to do it for free.
