Today I want to talk about scammers
#1

What is scammers? So far all they have done to me is annoy me, waste my time and try to steal my stuff.

Incase anyone here is a scammer and you read this:

DON'T FUCKING BOTHER TRYING TO SCAM ME PLEASE, I'M NOT FALLING FOR IT.

Especially not when you start the conversation with "Hello, sell item for money???" and have a private profile.

I don't know if its SourceOP or I'm just getting unlucky, but after I put up my unusuals for sale on SourceOP I've been getting 5 scammers adding me in 3 days.

Let me try to recreate a convo with a scammer.

me: hi
scammer: Hello, sell items for money?
me: yeah i do, where did you find me?
scammer: 250$ for merry and hound dog
me: but i want 180 for merry and 90 for hound dog
scammer: ok 290 for both, u find middleman pls
Then he proceeds to either invite a fake middleman or ask if my friend can middleman so he can trade me from a spare account.

THE FUNNY THING IS. This guy added me and tried to do the scam where my friend is the middleman and he would have a spare account where he trades me through a steam group. It happened not once but TWICE where the alt account trading me was the SAME both times.

Anyone else feeling like scammers are just everywhere nowadays?

i wouldn't have tought the numbers changed much, but then again the new scam exploit is pretty decenrt, so it wouldn't suprise me if that brought some people out of their holes.

one phrase to sum this up, no matter how much u polish a turd, its still a fucking piece of shit, they was always scum, and there will continue to try to scam you in new ways, but its still the same bullshit, just different ways of doing it, best thing is , dont trade with people who offer more than ur items are really worth, and trade with trusted traders instead, better safe than sorry

I get added about twice a day by scammers or people with private profiles who want to overpay for my unusual. I typically send a couple steamrep reports and that keeps them away for a while.

I lost ten keys to two scammers that faked being registered Steam Rep middlemen.

First time a guy tried to scam me that way I almost handed them over because I thought it was my real friend but then my TF2 crashed and pretty much saved my ass.

Starting the convo with "Hello, sell items for money?" and a private profile is a dead giveaway.

It's funny because they don't even try to make it look legit by mixing in some real fucking english instead of that gibberish russian.

I lost a one of one Stormy Storm Your Worst Nightmare to a scammer because I thought I could trust him. Lesson learned, don't trust people online.

Yes, getting scammed really sucks but all there is to it is to move on. It might be tough, I know it was for me but it's what has to be done.

I have a theory that some of those scammer's who've added me is sharing account or something since there's been two times where it has been the same guy wanting to buy my unusual for $30+ more than what I wanted, going by a different name.

So apparently some guy called "scorp" decided to add me to "troll" me. He said he wanted to give me $500 for all my unusuals and then proceeded to call me new in trading because I didn't know who he was. If you're reading this, don't attempt to add me again.

Same guy added me but he was offline when I accepted. When I checked his profile, he had a private profile and bp.

Actually scammers are normally easy to avoid as long as you pay attention(or have common sense). But still they made me very paranoid. Even if I am selling stuff to someone trustable I confirm his profile several times.
But still the fact that scammers exist make money trades a pain. No matter how trustable a person looks. I am always afraid to get scammed :|
