Calling something an auction
#1

Why do people do it.

They are like "HURR DURR ITS AN AUCTION, OFFER NOW AND YOULL WIN NO MATTER WHAT IT IS AS LONG AS ITS FINAL OFFER!"

Then 3 weeks later hes still bumping the crap out of the thread, eventually saying it never was an auction when people call him out on it.

ITS SO ANNOYING.

Why are there so few honest auction holders out there?

Auction doesn't mean 3 second sale. eBay is an auction site. Listings there can last for weeks. The real failure is impatient traders and a seller that won't keep the top offer listed, nor provide a countdown.
Also, this is why buy it now is the only real way to shop(with the exception being a retaded high buyout).
There is a trade chat forum for a reason by the by.

QFT

most auctions are: I'll only accept a hidden reserve but I'm hoping I'll get an offer higher than that
