Do you all really, honestly deep down think that this can actually be solved and that we will all of a sudden have perfectly balanced games and that it will actually be better?

I assure you that the more you play, the better you will become. Then you will be one of the regs and you'll see that there's balanced nights and not so balanced nights...that's just the way it goes.

Most nights that I play, regs "stack" on both teams and it ends up being a matter of class choice and how people are feeling -- whether they want to be team oriented or not.

The other thing you could do is populate the pro rotation server and play honestly to keep it balanced. If the other team needs a good player, then switch out to help. The nice thing about the pro server is that it's small enough that people can bounce around.

I would call one myself one of the "regs" and play there almost daily. It is extremely rare that it will be balanced and I will watch people on spectator literally wait for 5 minutes for a spot to open up on the stacked team and join it. The Gold Rush server has become so annoying that I'm starting to look for a new community of servers to play on.

DF needs to have it kick people that piss around in spec waiting to join a stacked team. I have seen people idle in there for five or even 10 min.

Teams shouldn't be punished for working together, rather, players should indeed be punished for waiting on spec to join a certain team. While I wont shy away from picking the better team (usually the team with the regs who play medic well) I don't sit on spec to wait to get on the winning team like a douche.

The problem is that few players actually understand the mode when they come in. These are your non-regulars who are new to the game. They are essentially worthless in relevance to the gamemode, more so than say CTF. At least in 2fort, defending your base is defending your base. Not so in payload maps. It takes a total team effort.

Id like to see a votable scramble added, and the auto-kick after 60 seconds on spec or whatever.

The teams usually stack because one side ends up with all the players who know how to play payload, and the other side doesnt. I don't think that is the fault of the server, rather, the fault of valve and the mode itself. I constantly have to yell "no fucking SGs. get on the damn cart" and yet still snipers are playing their little game. Engineers are wandering around the backfield with 20 seconds to go, tending to their SGs.

It gets old. So forgive people who want to play with competent players.

Would it really "punish" anyone? No, not really. It would allow you to play with different people, have different challenges, and keep it overall much more fair and most importantly much more fun to play in. Seriously having to pretty much rage quit after 5 minutes of being in the server like 5 times a day is getting very old. This would avoid long durations of stacked teams in which I've seen stay stacked for hours and hours at a time.

If after a scramble the teams happened to get stacked one way or the other, the maximum they'd stay stacked is like what, 20 minutes? If Red happened to get stacked, they'd defend and win on stage one, then roll through to stage 3 and then teams would be scrambled and the problem would be solved. If BLU happened to get stacked, they'd roll through to stage 3 and the teams would be scrambled and the problem would be solved again.

I can handle stacked teams perfectly fine in moderation. If teams were scrambled and they happened to be stacked, so what, they'd be scrambled again soon. Its just that its now getting to be an almost 24/7 thing. Really getting old and really making me, and others, look for new servers to play on.

Also, when joining it should maybe even force you to join the team that is down one player. I mean if its 12 vs. 13, why would you wait for someone to leave just to join one team? If you have a friend on one team you should just join them later when your team has one extra player. That or just set a 30 second spectator time limit before it kicks/bans you for 5-10 minutes.

come to valve maps #2. in the daytime it's full of mouthbreathers who play rambo medic and W+M1 pyro, but hey, easy kills if you don't "require" a medic. plus, some good samaritans actually de-stack teams mid game...

Why would you wait? because the highest scorer on the other team still has a mere quarter of the points of the lowest scorer on the other team? Or maybe all your steam friends are playin on one team, and a bunch of unknowns on the other? Or worse, elmatador is on the lesser team?

I will try to mediate this as best as I can.

Unknown- The goldrush server is easily the worst server when it comes to stacking. I try to help the losing team but I usually just end up rage quitting (No medics and 3 spies/snipers, I go medic and there is no one to heal, general mouth breathing, etc...)
