every time someone in comp CS:S starts to feel guilty or get mad at someone else they send their private cheats to the various leagues and about a week later about 100 people get banned for cheating.
do not delude yourself: in a game where everything except grenades is hitscan, probably close to 20% of the people that play it don't play fairly.

yeah that's a fair point. Also tons of people wall hack, which is harder to observe.

This is why a lot of game devs have moved away from modding as it provides a very easy to use access window for hackers.
You cannot stop people from texture hacking(Which is pretty much undetectable) without using a white/blacklist and then you are essentially banning legit mods too. And while punkbuster is infamous for it they actually are fairly good with their definition updates which is more than I can say for VAC.

Do you want a realistic shooter that's so old it's no longer realistic or a class based shooter where there are so many items that they can no longer balance the game?
Either way go play ARMA if you want a perfected CSS experience and Gaia Online if you want the modern TF2 experience. (because I hear TF2 still has gameplay, but I haven't been able to find it.)
