Sudden death only servers
#11

You're dumb... especially since you are trying to hijack the post with unintelligible dribble.

People who are playing on an instant respawn server aren't the type of people that I imagine would appreciate sudden death. Personally, I am as likely to join a sudden death server as I am to join an instant respawn server.

I dont think it would be too good of an idea... I tend to search for another server if sudden death turns into a turtle fest. \0= Its just too slow paced for an extremely fast paced game. Sure, it'd be fun for the first two or three hours but after that, its counter-strike.

SD melee only or melee only could be interesting. One of the few times I really enjoyed SD was a melee only server and it was a straight blood-bash.

But really I think there are enough customs servers and similar to fill the niche already and I think what Drunk is talking about is what a pain in the ass it can be to get a server trafficed. 32 man jobs aside there are A LOT of unused servers. I ran one myself.

That is exactly what you create, while your at it why not add FF as well that way you can create the CS atmosphere without having to spend 20 bucks.

I am not flaming i am just restating the obvious, CS has a different pace and people who play CS (myself included) expect the ebb and flow of each round. TF2 is in my opinion a constant action style of gameplay its somewhat a meat grinder. There are some servers that have instant respawn with no wait times and i dont play those servers either. I play on the sourceop tf2 valve maps 20 sec respawn time, that makes death have a penalty as death should, it creates an ebb and flow and i will elaborate; 14 v 14 map and red has just killed 6 guys on CP 3, the purpose of wait times is to allow the victor some spoils and the spoils are, time to heal up, collect up, dig in, and quite possibly push to the next CP with a numerical advantage. Without the respawn times you have quake 3 with classes. As far as the sudden death type of server some posts in the forums have been about how to stop turtling on maps, i can guarantee you on a sudden death type of server i am going to make my one death count so i am going to turtle up and set up what i like to call "sucker shots". What are "sucker shots"? Sucker shots are when i am sticky bombing or sniping a certain opening that the enemy has to traverse on thier way to an objective, waiting like a spider for the enemy to enter my web of death, taking the easy shot and if possible killing in order eng, medics and then anyone else. Sudden death is okay i am not saying that i think sudden death is a bad idea i am just pointing out some of the already discussed topics and the repercussions of that type of game play. As for the people who leave on sudden death rounds are imho lame you have fought the map to a standstill, put forth a valiant effort, and because your tweaking for action the next 2 mins are an unbearable timeframe? Sudden death is the culmination, the fulcrum of all your efforts and that in itself for me makes sudden death the pinnacle of achievement, especially with some of the skills i have seen some players display. And to those who leave on sudden death rounds, thanks for opening a spot for me as i dont have a reserved place yet.

i think it would be interesting to make a server where all weapons do double damage, it would speed up the game play, make crits less significant, i know theres tons of guys who dislike crits

ps, omg i spelled double right on the first try, i'm getting better at this spelling thing
