Hey guys, first and foremost i know this isn't the right subforum or anything to paste this - but i guess in order to get a decent reply this would be one of the more frequented places.

So yesterday, after the huge patch and tf2 went free . It became impossible for me to patch my tf2.
Whenever i go into steam it hangs(like a boss), and a little window comes up saying validating games(DoD, HL2DM, TF2) and it's tremendously slow and god knows if it'll finish.

I reinstalled steam, deleted clientregistry.blob, deleted everything except steamapps and steam.exe.

From what i see from the above fixes ^ , it might be something to do with my tf2 files, but imo there should be nothing wrong as i was playing it fine just before the patch, yet now whenever i tries to update it keeps hanging and validating every so often. Despite leaving it on for the night i've only updated 1%. This is really stupid and wearing me out - perhaps a sign to quit tf2? :o

Any ideas? Or if anyone has encountered this any fix :?: Any help is greatly appreciated.

sounds like the game did not fully update, have had something like this b4 happen. maybe try reinstalling tf2 altogether or if you have it on a different computer, restore it form a backup.

edit: also I'm sure you would get a reply if you posted it in misc general chat.
