You didn't provide enough information for me to help you. How exactly are you attempting to spawn?

See, you're not giving me much information by saying that. Please provide repro. steps.
I think what you are trying to do is this.
1. Open the map overview window.
2. From the list on the top right of the map overview window, select a gun.
3. Drag the target icon onto a player. This gives the player the gun selected.
Let me know if this is what you are doing.
