SourceOP Achievements
#1

I was thinking of making my own set of achievements for the SourceOP servers but then I realized it kind of detracts from the whole "no mods" thing. Should I do it anyways? Thoughts?

No. If you were going to implement such a feature, you should first dedicate a separate with mods for it.

But you're absolutely right, it will detract from the "no mods" idea

Nah, i honestly wouldn't like it. It especially wouldn't be good if you made an achievement and then a week later valve adds it in an update. Keep it no mods man, it's what attracted me to the server in the 1st place Smile

I always thought it would be a neat addition to have, but it would belong on a different server for sure.

Couldn't you make a special command someone would have to type to turn it on? That way only knowledgeable regulars would do it.

And here's your first idea for an achievement!

It'd affect the gameplay style even more.

um i think it would be so bad to have achievements for the JP server, IF you even fix the mario-kart map, but you should make it optional, so you can still play the server even with out the mod for it

I like the idea of having them added, I just don't think the reality would work out well.

If you're referring to the endless map thing, it has been fixed already.

The achievements wouldn't have any reward, or at least I didn't plan for them to. So, they wouldn't change gameplay in that sense. They would just be fun little accomplishments. I was even thinking some of the more dedicated regulars could have their own achievement. For example, maybe FlyZ could have a pyro achievment named after him and Ruzbeh could have a spy one or something and they could come up with the details.

But still, it sounds like this is too much and you guys just want standard TF2.

Not really. I'd love it for Just For Fun achievements. Half the fun of playing some of these classes is in trying to hit goals.
