But there was an hour or so a few days back where steam seemed to dump items all over the people playing. It happened in every server I went to and I myself got 9 or so items in under 5 minutes. Now, while I was lucky enough to get a few hats (Batting helmet, Prussians, and my badass fedora which was the only hat I wanted) I am still confused as to what would have caused the item system to do that.

As of now I couldn't care less, I have everything I want thank's to DF's steamstats. But it's still a curiousity in the back of my mind,

I saw it happen, wasnt one of the lucky ones. Dont think valve have told anyone what happaned, but then i never visit the official forums so they may have a post there about it.

At first a lot of people thought it was people messing around making fake item notifications (its possible, or was, might not be anymore) but it seems odd that so many people were doing it and somehow manageing to do 2 items at a the same time. Then bumpy started showing off all the new hats he got because of it and i died inside a little... i hate you valve! why didnt you choose me!

that just makes me doubly unlucky. My steam was messing up on me and I wasn't able to play until after the end of the memorial day weekend. On the plus side my sister came into town and we had a large and delicious crawfish boil. I must say crawfish boil is better than hats.

But, but, i didnt have jarate or any hats! Although i found shit loads of jarates after i finally found my first one...
