I don't know about that. I may. Reloading your scattergun is about just as good as shooting your pistol.

Primary Scattergun 6 32 85-105 (180 crit)
Secondary Pistol 12 36 20-22 (45 crit)

Considering that you'll never really light someone up with all 12 pistol shots. I don't think you're giving up too much. Plus, I think those pistol numbers are a little exaggerated. I've never seen anyone take 200+ damage in a pistol clip. Sure, you also lose some effectiveness from long range, when your opponents is low on health and you empty your scatter clip, but whatever, I'm not fighting someone from a mile away as a scout anyhow.

Don't think it makes you run faster.

You just get a neat motion blur effect and you are impervious to hitscan weapons.

I think it'll just make you faster. Being invulnerable to hitscan weapons would make scout fights ridiculous. Couple that in with some other classes, pyros who's only real defense against you is the shotty, and soldiers when they blow all 4 rockets; that would be way too broken.

What are you even talking about? I'd be impressed if a scout could circle strafe a level 2 or 3 sentry well enough to kill it in a real fight, even if they're being speedy.

We also haven't even see what the new primary weapon is going to be. We also don't know how much damage (if any) the new bat does.

Can you use it like a bat and/or a ranged weapon? We can speculate as to what it will be like but won't really know until it's released. The pistol might not even be that big of a loss.
