Sometimes when I connect to the source arena server it gets stuck on the welcome message and just makes a loop on the first sound but sometimes I can connect just fine any idea on why this is happening?

yeah my tf2 locks up with the sound looping and i have to open up task manager to close it.

I can join any other server except the sourceop servers. I've played at the arena server for a while now.

It doesn't make sense that you can join any other server. When you connect, do you see the motd? Maybe you're unable to join any servers that have HTML motds.

If you have AVG antivirus, try removing it:

but the crazy part is that I've been playing on the server for a while with no change I don't have AVG antivirus I have avast and it has no problems with games.

I just tried reinstalling TF2 just to see if that was the problem, but the same thing keeps happening. I am able to see the motd but thats where it gets locked up

I just deleted it restarted steam it did the update went into the server and same thing
