First I want to apologize for not being on the last month. With moving, visiting family, and living in a place with no regular internet I've had only a few rare chances to hop on and play. Hopefully, I'll be back on a regular basis in the next week or so.
Anyways,
I receive the ContactAdmin requests and after scouring over a few I thought I might add some suggestions to what people should do next time they send one.
- 1. If someone is hacking, mic spamming, using racial slurs, griefing, etc... please try and have some proof of their actions. I realize that you cannot send this info directly to us with the form but the information may be useful later on in deciding whether a ban is legitimate or not. Banning people on "she/he said" is a dangerous practice. DF and the other admins try to avoid this as often as possible. If you don't have evidence then make sure you have a couple of good credible regulars who were on that can be asked to verify your claims.
- 2. Try and provide both a name and SteamID. This'll help us figure out who is who and save time in banning the right person. I believe you can type "status" in the console or "whois" (followed by the players name) ingame to bring up this information.
- 3. Use contactadmin. DF and the admins are not always on. sending us the form can help us deal with problems later on even if we were not on at the time.
