While I enjoy the twice-weekly Hell-met hate threads for their absurdity, why not just enforce a rule (that's been standard in nearly every FPS I've played since 1999) that the admins have to record demo's while "on duty". No offenses at the end of the night? Delete the file. Something happened? Save it, label it, and instead of "writing an essay" upload it for another admin to look at.
From what I've gathered in all these threads, mostly since I don't play on 2Fort and there's an Admin on maybe once a week on #1, accountability (and more mini-admins) is all that's really wanted/needed. Since the community is so huge (not counting the Arena server), as there are over 500 players with >25 cumulative days played on the servers, it's not much to ask. (To be fair in this specific case, that's a crap-ton of 'Regulars" to keep track of.)

Nope, seen you before using it last week. The reason for the delay is I wasn't sure if it was an intended feature or not.

If the sentence is a permanent ban, you damn well better have something more than ONLY YOUR sight and YOUR word. Your sight and word, which we have all just seen, is not infallible. Even though YOU were SO SURE it was, before this little incident.

I request, DEMAND even, that JLove's ban be lifted if Hell-met has no evidence to show other than what he CLAIMS he saw. That seems very appropriate after what just happened.

And I certainly demand Hell-met have some sort of proof to show for a banning from now on, before he bans any other innocents.

Anyway, I still enjoy playing with you Hell-met. But apparently you aren't a very good admin.

I'd advise not to use the 1 demo per life setting tho. I've used this already more than a year, and it records any I do. Saved me a lot of disputes, and if I encountered a hacker, I already had the evidence.

only downside? all scripts etc you do will influence ppl's configurations when they replay... you gotta warn 'm to copy the config.cfg for backup and restore after playing the demo.

I know I have no right to demand anything, but still I think it's only right. Even if Jlove did in fact use that exploit, forgive him and let him have one more chance. I'm pretty sure he's learned his lesson. The fact remains you have no proof other than what you claim you saw, and now we know just how wrong that can be. Perhaps it was indeed a different "J something" you saw before. I for one can't say that I've seen Jlove do it.
