Last week the faithful PC crashed, sending my XFX 8600GT to never everland. All the 6.3v transistors popped (probably because of my overclocking), which sends me looking for a new card.
I am aware that PCI-E is cross-compatible most of the time (5770 won't work on PCI-E 1.0, some 1.0 cards on 2.0 boards get fried, etc), but I'm looking for something in the $100-$160 range that'll do me good. I'm running a Foxconn G33MO2 mobo which can handle a PCI-E 2.0 card, and I'm going to have to upgrade my PSU. Any recommendations to what you guys have, what problems you've had with cards/companies would be greatly appreciated.
Currently looking at a GTS 220 1GB

foxconn is gross. I wish you could go back in time and not buy a foxconn motherboard.

This doesn't help his problem any, and in no way contributes to the conversation.
I definitely say go with the 5750 dude. Looks like it would do you fine Hawkens

I would say to go with the GTS250 because ATI drivers are horrible.
Also wait a few weeks because the GTX400 series is days away and the prices are going to shoot down like crack.

Foxconn is gross, but it's a Dell, baby. I bought the system for the Q6600, not for it's stellar reputation.

It seems to perform really well in the budget lineup.

I'll be looking at buying a new vid card for my b-day come June and yes, I'll be shooting for the NVIDIA Geforce. But first, I need to get a stronger power supply since my 250W power supply just doesn't chug like it used to.

Here's my order from Newegg:
PNY GTS 250 1GB for $109 after $20 rebate

I needed 24A on the 12v rail, and the 12V3 rail of this PSU is 25A. Go me for saving money.
Anyone else get this temporary silicone in their system, too? I'll post later and let you know how the install goes.
BTW, thanks Omega for recommending I wait. The GTS250 went down $20 today.
