You know, I can understand why someone would want to spend alot on a community sparkle big kill or cloudy moon team captain. Atleast everyone in game can see that you have something special and unique. Plus, it makes your in-game character just look badass. Everyone in the server sees it and is like WOW. Ok I get it, you like to be special.
However what is the deal with people spending hundreds on very minor cosmetic things like the vintage lumbricous lid. Besides blue text and some people being surprised by its existence, isn't much of a conversation piece or something the masses would appreciate. Or the "painted" cow mangler that doesn't even show up painted in game. If you're in an instatnt respawn server, no one even notices.
But the ones that are really like omg are you fucken serious are stuff that aren't even visible without someone going in your backpack. I mean like the "clean" unusual scrap metal which would lose value if you actually used it or "the self made key" which by now probably doesn't belong to any of the original owners. I mean, whenever I see it in someonee's backpack I think, omg this person is ridiculous. I mean it'd be special if like it guranteed uncrating an unusual or like could be used a 100 times. But no, its just a key with a couple mini starburst images on it. Big whoop
I mean, really, Why? I mean you could have a bunch of nice unusuals everyone is like wow or or a key of which a good chunk of the tf2 population won't even notice you have and of those that do notice, a sizable chunk think you're ridiculous.
