well since they are trying to hide it by simply not posting a link, any web crawler should be able to dig through the site and find it with ease.

Btw, you going to give us a free copy? Big Grin What's the subject matter, anyway?

They're digital products. The whole point is that people can purchase instantly, for cheaper than a hard copy of a book, and have instant access to the information contained.

We used Clickbank for other products but for our smaller/cheaper guides, we didn't want to pay the Clickbank fees until we see if the profit is worth it. So we have the option of Paypal as a checkout but we lack the added security that Clickbank provides. Hence, the dilemma.

Amazon has an eBook store you can self-publish to, though. It doesn't have to be a physical print. Anyone with a Kindle or iPhone/iPod Touch (maybe WinMo and Android soon) could buy the book. Mobipocket, which is where I buy ebooks, also allows independent publishing:

I've been down this road before as a merchant. I used agoracgi for the PayPal transactions, but I was selling physical goods (computer hardware/software, couldn't compete with Newegg or Googlegear). If you do it that way, it'd probably be easiest to just email the book as an attachment, rather than providing a direct download.

Considered that option as well but it's too large (even compressed) for most mailboxes.

I know fellow writers who have used Amazon's eBook store and self-publishing services and swear by it as great. My publisher sends my books to Amazon but it's a thought for self-publishing in the future. I think I may consider trying it out.

As for what Versed is talking about though, I don't think it really fits the crowd we are marketing to or the design w/ the website, company, etc.

I think he found a solution for now but if you have any other ideas, we'd be open to considering it. And appreciate your input and ideas!

Yes but Joomla doesn't contain the properties I need. I don't need a full on CMS.

As for the original post, I still haven't found a way to secure it 100% unless I buy software. This will probably be the way it will go.

As for the books we're selling you can find them through our website page or you can follow these links:
