Mysterious locked sales thread?
#1

I started my first sales thread last night and it was locked no explanation at all. I read the rules didnt break any? Is there something I am missing? here is the thread ( http://www.sourceop.com/modules.php?name...686#334686 ) if you can access it it dosnet say anything but selling x for $ or x buds x bills Pm me here or add me. simple and plain.

Also wouldn't it make sense to tell the person why you are locking the thread and also tell them who locked it so you dont bug the other moderators etc. asking them why?

I bought about 200$ of stuff on here in the last 3-4 months, I never started a rep thread for me, because I didnt plan on selling at the time but i left feedback for every item bought save 2. the only thing I can think of is i didnt put my backpack link up, but wait I have bought about half my items from people I had to PM here with no steam or backpack links?

I have over 3200 verified PREMIUM transaction on my paypal account I dont know how many sellers here can say that. I also have like 90 games on my steam account and have been a member of steam for 6-7 years now. I trade on 5 computer forums buying and selling 900$ cpu's on nothing more than the trust system and heatware feedback and I just cant figure why my thread was locked.

anyway I just though i would ask here for any ideas as to why it was locked while I am waiting for peteym3 to respond to my PM.( I only PM'd him after asking drunken fool why etc. and he said ask peteym3) I mean what can you do but ask the moderators at the top, drunken fool was listed first, and go down the line of mods till one answers then that would be considered bugging them i would assume. My point being if I was a mod and i got 20 pms a day asking why my thread was locked etc. and it was another moderator I would want that moderator to leave some kind of info leading back to him so they could PM him and not me..?

I only call this thread mysterious locked sales thread because to me its a mystery and there were no comments as to why etc. or who even did it or what? If there is a minimum thread count before you can sell for $$ i didn't see it in the rules i read I am not complaining but I think this post is ok to write since no info was given to me I thought that must be the way things are done so i am looking got other users for a clue right now as it seems I get a one sentence ask peteym3 from one mod and nothing from teh one that locked it heck I dont even know if peteym3 was the one that locked it I am assuming so.

Maybe for having duplicate threads open for same item?

quoted from the rules:
"Don't create multiple threads. Close your old threads before creating a new one. Threads will be locked. "

I dont think it was that this was my very first sales post ever I posted.

I got a response from peteyM3 it said

Quote:Did you bump your thread within an hour of the last post? That is usually the reason threads get locked.

Here is the rules for all the trade sections. Hope this helps. http://www.sourceop.com/modules.php?name...ic&t=27108

I guess that is his way of saying that is why I did it but I could see how it may be taken as not a direct answer. There is no bump in the locked thread to tell I honestly thought i waited an hour but with this website on GMT+10 and I live at GMT-5 Its a little hard going back in my browser history and telling how long I waited to revisit the thread. I asked him to actually confirm how long it was for me if he could and give and actual yes that is why answer instead of a question in response. I really do want to know after all the time i put into this.

So I hope I am not sounding like I am complaining too much here but let me recap my experience and I hope you can see why I may have been and still maybe just a tad confused when a simple lock thread post response or quick pm saying locking thread due to excessive bumpage would have saved any further confusion or communication. I wouldn't even had to pm drunken fool and ask him and have him say ask pete and then post this thread and do a forensic analysis of my firefox history with no bump post with a timestamp to judge or a direct answer from the mod. I ve learned more about the timezones in the last few hours than i did my whole life adn I am still not sure the difference between GMT-10 and GMT -5 is Australia or wherever a day ahead or behind on it?? I hope pete can answer how many minutes i waited to bump in his next pm.

So I am just hoping for a direct answer now that I asked directly for it... no pun intended. And watch out first time ever sales posters and first time ever bumpers if its not over an hour since you posted last you will get your thread locked and no notice or reason why so take notes when you bump so you can figure it out easier, Peteym3 is watching you first first timers like a hawk.

I am sorry but it seems like this is a pretty fair website so I dont feel scared asking a simple question like is it normal procedure for a first time poster first time bumper ever to have a sales thread locked with out having any notice or pm sent whatsoever. i thought a good mod would be simple and short and direct "helpful" when they can not cause more confusion in my case.

So i may have posted within an hour of my first post ever but with no post in the locked thread to judge and no actual answer from the mod I still dont know, but am I allowed to ask if you think that is harsh or in the least the roundabout way of telling me and I am sure it took longer to lock the actual thread and respond and paste the response in my PM than it would have taken to just simply send me a pm or leave the bump and post locked thread due to etc. so I and everyone knows. If i get yelled in the next PM response at or locked or banned for asking this than I dont want to sell here anyway and I really dont want that to sound rude It should be taken as a normal moral stance by anyone with a backbone. I have over 3200 Premium and probably over 12000 PayPal transactions and I sell and buy on 5 different PC websites where it relies on trust and a few heatware feedbacks but basically the 900$ cpus get send on faith after the person pays and not by gift either.. and I have never seen an action so harsh as to lock a sales thread for a first time poster first time bump ever with no notification why to tell this person. If you actually wanted that person to have no chance of knowing why and maybe even doing it again that would be that way to go about it I guess.

jesus chrsit dude that was the best book i've ever read

The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth becomes the greatest enemy of the State.

There was a bump 3 minutes after the original post. One at 37 minutes and another at 40 minutes.

Also, this your thread in trade http://www.sourceop.com/modules.php?name...highlight=

I await his novel about his intentions and how it makes it okay that he broke the rules.

I made a sales thread, I came back and hour later I thought and wrote the word bump. Its not possible I wrote bump on my sales thread 3 minutes after I wrote it. maybe there was an accidental re-post or I clicked on quote instead of edit or something like that but I no way in hell blatantly wrote bump 3 minutes after starting a sales thread.

I came back the next day it was closed. it was going on 24 hours since it was locked and no reason from you as why so i started a trade post. I thought it had something with my forgetting to post my backpack links or papal or having a rep thread to sell for cash. I reread the rules and didn't see any reason i couldn't post my stuff on the trade forum until i heard back from you that i could sell for $$.

I got the response from you today about the bumping so i figured I was allowed to sell my stuff for cash again and I cant unlock my thread myself so I started a for sale for sash thread. what else was i to do? And in the rules it says you can have a thread in the sales and trade forums at the same time. I read that part too and originally intended to only have a sales thread that is why i never made a trade thread until going on 24hours later when I still haven't heard back from you at all.

I havent bumped my other trade thread since i made my sale thread and dont intend to is that anything you guys wouldnt do to sell your stuff. If I am not allowed to have one sale thread in the for sale forum then tell me so dont be cryptic about it please. so making it look like i had 3 threads going and i dont know what I am doing is silly.

I would like, I am asking for the 10th time now, to see the actual text that was posted in the second post.

your last pm to me:
Quote:Your second post was actaully 3 minutes after the original post.
Posted: Mon Apr 04, 2011 3:37 am Post subject: WTS v conch for 30$
Posted: Mon Apr 04, 2011 3:40 am Post subject: WTS v conch for 30$

and in your above post you say:
Quote:here was a bump 3 minutes after the original post. One at 37 minutes and another at 40 minutes

That post makes if sound like I posted my thread then bumped 3 minutes after op then bumped 37 minutes after op then bumped 40 minutes after op. Question so are you saying I bumped once or are you saying I bumped 3 times in an hour?? because anyone reading the post above would clearly think that sounds like i posted 3 times when in your pm you state it clearer that it was one post probably an accidental repost or i pushed quote instead of edit and accidentally posted a second post with my first post in quotes but just changed the text i needed to fix. either way the full text and the times of the Op and second post and you wont hear from me anymore.
