This is my very 1st custom built computer. It took me months to get the parts, and 3 days of building to actually get it to work right, but it was well worth it. Halflife2 easily runs at max settings with vista home premium and over 50 processes running in the back ground.

Id would sincerely like to think everyone who helped me on this, everyone who has given me advice, and answered my questions. Ive learned alot in the past 2 years and i could not have done it with out help.

A special thanks goes to Naquadria, Krule, Bacon, Drunken F00L, Deadsnow, Vitiate, OmegaZero_Alpha, Speedy, and all my instructors at ITT.

Ive named her the "DeathStar". She is a fully functional battlestation capable of annihilating the latest games.( A few upgrades are still needed) The heatsink was HUGE pain in the ass to install, had to have my dad help me with it.

Im using the CD/DVD RW drive from the dell on the deathstar for right now

i don't like how the psu is on the bottom of the case, the heat rolling off it will just add to the rest of your comp

but the heat sink on your prsessor is crazy, i just used the one that came with my core 2 duo, and it dose the job, plus i wanted to get water cooling in the future, so i didn't wana waist the money

i also gone upgrade my rig, with a second 8800GTX, blu-ray DVD-rom, and so new led fans
can't wait till i get my tax refund
for your next upgrade segest you get a new monitor, didn't know any one still used crt

I had the heatsink that came with cpu on their at 1st, but i kept hearing bad things about it(sinks that come with cpu's), plus when i had it on their, i could not get it firmly secured to the motherboard so i bought that zalman sink for $60

So if the heat rises, wouldn't you want it on the top? That way the heat is already at the top and gets blown out rather than acting as a heater for all the components above it.

I have 7 fans including the one on the GPU and the heatsink which is practically PURE copper. 4 of the fans have speed controls. Their currently on the lowest speed setting.I also have a speed control/cpu temp monitoring component for the heatsink fan if i needed it. And i have vents all over the case. Im sticking my hand in my case at this very moment after this comp has been running for two hours and the air is BY far much cooler than it would have been inside my old dell. IM FINE

stock CPU coolers are great if you arent overclocking, but because I am getting 3.4ghz out of my processor I bought a better one. (the one that came with the quad-core barely fit and made me feel like I was breaking my motherboard anyway)

maybe i should sell my stock cooler then

then you can switch to 64-bit, because that is the only way to get vista to run properly (I hope).
