My Amazing Idea by Captain America
My amazing idea is that the CTF maps on the main server should be split up into 2 rounds instead of the 1 large round. My idea is amazing because it would help invigorate the map by putting some urgency in the rounds. These maps usually end in Sudden Death anyway, so 2 parts would increase the number of resolutions and also give the team that lost the first sudden death a shot at redemption. I ran my idea past some other people in the server and they were unanimously unimpressed. I think it could be a good idea though and best of all is it doesn't really change much.

Like when it goes to 2fort the timer defaults to about 35 minutes for the round. Well instead, I suggest it should default to 16 minutes. I guess my suggestion is to make the rounds shorter (not the total map time). People get 2fortitus and don't really focus on capturing flags and instead focus on defending or sniping or whatever else. The same can hold true for both the 2 other ctf maps. At the very least my idea would eliminate stalemating 2fort for 30 minutes and then resolving the whole matter in 3 minutes of Sudden Death. There are other options for improving the ctf map experience and unfortunately I think the best options are changes that Valve would have to make to the maps themselves.

i think what he is saying... is make the round half as long and making 2 rounds...
that way if no one wins the first round it would turn into sudden death like always, since most of the time it ends in SD at the end of a very long match anyways...
that way there would be a second round for the loosing team to avenge themselves...
2 shorter rounds on the same CTF map instead of one long ass grind to only end in SD
if that makes anything clearer...

Ya, I get it now. I don't know about it though. Implementation might be tricky too.

while i like the idea, and it shows true creativity for fixing a big problem for a lot of players.
however, i think that the same if not better effect can be achieved through simpler means, ie map veto-ing

Or CTF maps could all just be melee-mode only. That would definitely make them worth playing and anticipating.
