Drunken,
Is it possible that you can implement some sort of count-down for the map-skip vote? I don't pay attention to the 'timeleft' especially when there's a really good game going on, and a lot of the times I'll make an unconscious vote when I'm switching between weapons...
I've seen other players select the wrong option by mistake, and it can be quite annoying when I want to skip a certain map but accidentally select the other option - it happens so fast.
I know in Counter-Strike you can set it to freeze the beginning of the next round to allow map voting to occur, or even just have a count-down as I stated earlier.
Just a thought...maybe you can do a poll again and see what others think.

I was thinking something like making the choices 7 and 8 instead of 1 and 2 or make the choices appear five seconds after the thing shows up. Maybe both. I don't know. What do you think?

Also, at the end of the vote to count the yes' and no's and non votes and display them.
Thanks

They're displayed in chat. Displaying them anywhere else is too big of a disruptance. Maybe displaying the results in color or something so that it stands out more would work better.

Yeah, change the color of the text. I seem to always miss the results, I'm sure I'm not the only one.
As for the options...just keep it 1 and 2. But give it some delay/notification/heads-up so players know its coming.
Most players can probably micro between 1 and 2 a lot better than they can micro between 7 and 8.

I think something like 7 and 8 for Yes/No is better because you don't have to wait to be able to pick a choice. If I remember correctly, if a menu is up, you can't switch weapons until you close the menu. You can only close the menu if you pick an option off it. If it has no options (in the case of a delay), you won't be able to change weapon during the delay.
I think the very best thing to do would be wait for a round end near the timelimit. This way, it shouldn't be disruptive at all. Alternatively, you could have the vote go on for something like a five minute period, but you never see it until you die. If you don't die in the five minute period, you will see it at the end whether you are alive or not. Both of these would be tricky to implement.
I think the 7/8 thing is the best way to go. It's easy and relatively non-disruptive.

This is true, you can't switch the weapons. I guess the only people that will be affected are the players that play spies and disguise as sniper/medic.
Works for me.
