Improving Sourceop: An open to letter to DF

Here's my issue, Valve Maps #2 isn't populated as much as it could be. If I could suggest something I'd recommend having a server dedicated to a Custom Map rotational server. Similar to Valve Maps 1 / 2 now except with Custom Maps. The ability to vote for multiple maps at a time would be a bonus but would most likely result in a few maps being played multiple times in a row.

So to be more specific
- 32 Players
- Custom Maps
- Maps voted on / submitted by the community
- Ability to "Rate" maps in game (to prevent low rated maps from being spammed).
- Bacon

That is all. Also directed towards DF, the server I was playing at the time was Valve Maps #1, it was during our conversation (whatever day that was) but all in all the registry in most servers is fine for me, it just seems to be Valve Maps #1 and Gold Rush. However the other servers are fine for me.

and there was a custom maps server before. it was always empty all of the time. its now the prophunt server

ppl dont want to download all the custom maps after each. One in a rotation or in a big rotation a couple is fine. Also ppl want to know maps before they go "all out" on playing on them.

as for "voting" I'm more like: why not count the joins & leaves as voting for a map.... use that to shorten or lengten the time on a map, below a certain time its no longer on default rotation.

Would need some tweaking, ppl leaving between or just after mapchange not counting etc. Joins and leaves at same map just counting as joins (ppl checking the map out, wanting to play it, but for some reason dont like to continue play on the server for some settings like alltalk or w/e )

biggest sOP problem: lag. then, getting stuck between a rock and a hard place when the RTV comes up.

That is all, BadWater is one of the most popular TF2 maps, most if not all communities I've ever played on have either a GoldRush + BadWater 24/7 server (which I'd like to see here instead of GoldRush, OH LAWRD!) or a separate set of servers, one specifically for GoldRush, One for BadWater.

So I saw that the Pro Rotation map rotation was discussed in this thread and was wondering if there might be a chance to do the same with All Maps.

I realize that the server is an All Maps server and it currently lives up the name, so I am basically suggesting making it a Most Maps server.

I am not talking about anything crazy here, but there are a few maps on the rotation that nearly kill the server every time they come up.

For example, every time sawmill_ctf comes around, it nearly kills the server. There are a couple other maps that generate the same results on most occasions.

I just want to see if altering the rotation is on the table and if so, start a discussion about it.
