Since I've been playing on the SourceOp Valve Maps server I've waffled between "Duplex is a colorful character and his antics are funny" and "Duplex is a dick." Recently I've just muted you because I couldn't handle it and I do whatever I can to pick the team opposite you when you're playing. There's a few things that grind me about you personally, some exhibited in this thread. Let me preface this by saying I don't think you're friendless, a bad player, nor do I care what class you play.
First of all, you bitch every time some bad shit happens to you. Anyone who plays a decent amount will walk around the corner into a crit rocket, pyro, get face stabbed, burn to death infront of a medic who doesn't see you. Stuff like this happens in a 16v16 game. It happens to everyone. We don't need to hear about it over mic every time shit doesn't go your way and how unfair it is.
Second of all, we don't need to hear how good you are. You're not a bad player by any means but you're not half as good as you think you are. Any demo worth his salt that has a dedicated medic SHOULD dominate a map like dustbowl and gold rush where there are 16 guys trying to run through 3 little tunnels. You're no where near the top on open maps like cp_well and there's a pretty good reason for that. Not to say you're bad, because you're not. But you're certainly not one of the best. I play with guys miles better than you every day and I'm sure anyone who's even dabbled in competitive TF2 can say the same. If you don't believe me, I challenge you to get IRC, get on gamesurge, go to #tf2.gather.us, and play a pug as a demo. See how much of a force you are then and get back to me.
Last, you bitch when you're not healed. This shit happens too. Sometimes there aren't enough medics. Sometimes they just don't see you. If your definition of "teamwork" is having a medic glued to your ass at all times then apparently you're the one who doesn't understand TF2.

It's because you get under people's skin more than anyone else. You don't think that there's something wrong with the way you're acting if people only do this to you? Do you really think people talk shit because of your mad skillz? Think again. You're pretty abrasive over the mic and that's a shame because you've also shown you can be a pretty cool guy at times.
Half-Duplex Wrote:Now granted, I know sometimes I will call out an individual and say something that may be uncalled for. Everyone does it at least once. But even then, I'll only mention it maybe once or twice. After which the only thing you'll ever really hear me say is generalized. "Well when we have stupid-ass engies on our team that can't build to save their lives...".
It's shit like this. It makes you seem like an elitist when you have no right to be. It says nothing constructive. If you have a problem with what someone is doing, suggest what they should be doing. Don't just dis them. If you were doing something wrong I wouldn't say. "Man, Duplex is fucking retarded." It's much better to say, "Hey Duplex you're not really helping by doing x, why don't you do y and z instead because blah blah blah." That way people learn what they're doing wrong and why. It's a public server. Not everyone has experience. And even then, contrary to your own belief, you don't always know what's best for a team. I know it's the internet and a game and anonymity and all that bullshit but these are humans behind the computers and they deserve to be treated with some decency and not like morons just because they don't know TF2.
