I dont really run into multi monitor problems because I just use multiple computers running synergy to control them all

I think synergy would make my FPS go to shit if I tried to use that for multi-monitor support

When i upgraded to Vista, the first thing i noticed is how my computer suddenly started up faster and everything loaded faster. Nothing changed on my computer anywhere else, just the OS, and i had only recently just did a massive cleanup and re-installed XP so it wasnt running slower for usage. I guess i just got lucky and all my hardware worked perfectly with it.
Only slowdowns i had were with Visual Studio 6, but thats 11 years old now, cant expect it to work forever.
Havnt tried 7, barely even been following news 'n' whatnot. Ill probably chuck a few spare parts together and try it out on that machine before i actually decide to upgrade though, i guess im one of the few people who gets along with vista.

It's actually really great and no speed loss at all. The biggest problem is if youre gaming while its running and you accidentally activate a different computer with it (drag to screen or button combo whatever you set) then your game will minimize. At least that's what happened with WC3

If Microsoft makes 47 versions of 7 like they did with Vista and makes the best version cost $400, it's easier to switch to Linux.
I tried W7 on one of my core 2 machines and the degree to which it treats the user like an idiot is astounding. Almost everything is automatic and makes it ridiculously hard to manually set things how you want them to be.
I ran it for probably 2 months and got tired of it and put Linux on it. FC11 was just released and Steam runs awesomely on it.
