This must have happened to a lot of other users on this forum.

Basically, the story is, i added someone to offer well for their hat. We had a bit of a chat, then they said they wanted more than the very reasonable offer i made them. I told them that i wouldnt go any higher, and they delete me....

Now guess what happens?

A day later they re-add me telling me that they want to accept my offer and tell me how i will be missing out if i take there hat, showing all of the signs of desperation. It's happened to all of us, we've all been there before.

Naturally, i trolled them, then deleted them.

Now they wont be getting the nice offer and il be waiting for the next unbox.

I make it my aim never to trade with anyone who is:
-whiny. Someone like Teeird I wouldnt bother with.
-big headed. Angrypug has been blocked since last year.
-greedy. Apologies to this mystery unforunate guy whose name i cant remember. Donakaula or something.

i relatively knew to the whole unusual thing, but the first times, i got my B / O payed it felt weird, like why is this guy paying my B / O, is my price too low ?.

i mean i know better now, but i can understand it a bit if a newer players a bit unlogical behaviou.

And on the topic of reasonable offers, honestly, with no fixed values and "highballing" from many people its difficult to say if an offer is reasonable or not.

In the end, how you proceed is up to you, but if trolling is the right / needed course of action is a up to discussion in my view.

well its not the point i was making, so feel free to make your own thread for us to discuss this on.

this thread is more of a moral lesson than it is a discussion. however it would be good to hear others' opinions.

I've made a couple trades that I was offered pre-unusuals, but I've never really done anything majorly greedy/sharky with unusuals.

Although someone DID offer me a Burning Stash ($350 at the time) for my heart slug ages ago when the slug was my only unusual, I tried to take it but the guy changed his mind at the end of it, ah well.

only one sentence can explain this, tf2 is greed filled, and people will try to f u or charge u more than items are worth, its a dog eat dog world in tf2, kind of like the wildwest its sad,

ud think people use respectful trading tactics and be polite but doesnt seem to be the case most of the time.

actually u are blocked because you added me to sell me keys, but it was post spuf silliness. so i just blocked u and bought keys from someone else lol.

Sorry to derail the topic, but what are you on probation for? I've been curious about this for weeks.

Also, I've done some small profit trades back in the day but nothing close to sharking. All trades where I made a huge amount (4-5 keys in value) I would tell the seller they're losing a lot and that it's not a fair trade, yet they sold to me nicely. That's how I was able to buy an allfather for 1 key + ref during christmas and a S. F. Scattergun for 6 keys when they were 8 keys.
