You could still be an asset to your team... but you'd be a stat whore and helpful to your team, as opposed to being solely helpful to your team. That's not a good thing. Even if you're being 1% stat whore and 99% helpful, I'd prefer 100% helpful.

I'm still doing my team a great deal and playing well at the same time. This is how most people should play if they are concerned about their stats.

Statistics that aren't useful or accurate are completely useless. As opposed to a scoreboard. I mean when it says how many kills you got in a particular game... I'd say that's mighty useful. Inaccurate stats like hlstatsx have no good reason to be there at all.

I am having fun even with that ranking system, but I post here on SourceOP often to come up with suggestions and stuff to make things more fun, and I view this thread as one of those suggestions. I really do think that things would be more fun without stats. Any kind of distraction is a bad thing.

If hlstatsx were to be removed all of a sudden, then is that fair to the people who worked so hard to obtain the stats they have? Whether or not they were a help to their team, is it right to just take all they've earned away from them? What kind of justification would you have for such a removal? Think of the days some of these players spend trying to achieve the stats they have. To suddenly yank their hard work is
imprudent.
