TheGrobe Wrote:I just finished up the Enders series, and have now decided to delve into the wonderful world of Oz. God bless you Frank Baum.
Funny, I just listened to Ender's Game on Audiobook and I'm listening to A War of Gifts right now.

You know, I liked Ender's Game. Speaker for the Dead was decent. Everything else Orson Scott Card ever wrote was derivative of those two books and crap.
To anyone reading the Sword of Truth series: don't bother reading past the first couple of books. Terry Goodkind is a sub-par author; his first two books get by on being relatively entertaining stories. The only reason I finished the series was to see how he'd wrap it up. NOT WORTH IT. In fact, the ending of the last book was so poorly written and horribly contrived that I got rid of the entire series.
Actual book recommendations:
Anything by Neil Gaiman. I plan to go see Coraline as soon as I have time.
Anything by Jim Butcher. His books are both entertaining and reasonably well-written.
Anything by Terry Pratchett. Agua, if you like Doug Adams, read the Discworld novels by Pratchett.
Anything by William Gibson. I think I've read everything he's written from Neuromancer through Spook Country.
Dune by Frank Herbert. Very dense book, but well worth it. There's a reason it's a classic.
Talion: Revenant by Michael Stackpole.
If you like epic fantasy, the Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin is pretty good. If not, the series definitely won't change your opinion.
Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson. I don't like Stephenson as much as I like Gibson.
The Prince of Nothing series by R. Scott Bakker. First book is The Darkness That Comes before.
Current muddling through the following non-fiction whenever I have nothing else to read:
A Rabbi Talks With Jesus by Jacob Neusner
The Design of Everyday Things by Donald A. Norman
Death March by Edward Yourdon
