Dota 2 > TF2
#1

With the opening of Dota 2 store and being the most played game on Steam even though its closed beta I believe Dota 2 will surpass TF2 both in terms of trading and gameplay. And there is no item farming by idling in this. You gotta play and level up to get item drops.

Its got crates/keys too and stuff like Taunt/Strange weps/name tags which have been adopted from TF2.

Guess SoP will need a Dota 2 trading sub forum soon.

For now, no sub-forum and no straight-up dota2 trading.

Yes ofc this will be too early. I was merely saying that soon there will be Dota 2 trading communities or the existing TF2 communities will adopt Dota 2 as well.

That doesn't encourage a strong economy. Those who actually play enough to get a large amount of items most likely won't be avid traders, and those who simply want to trade won't be avid players, which means they won't have very many items. I can't see Dota 2 being nearly as much of a hat simulator as TF2 is.

in that case the items will be more valuable and there wont be as much gay trading subculture bullshit in dota, which I am absolutely OK with

The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth becomes the greatest enemy of the State.

Unlikely, given there's nothing that you can't buy as far as I know. And even then, everything is cheap enough that there would never be an economy on a scale or magnitude even approaching that of TF2.

I'm sure Valve will introduce Burning Hats

There will be thousands of items in the future and yes you can buy all the items but all the items in the store will drop too be it common weapon to Rare items. Just give it time and it will surpass TF2

I've already said this, and I'll say it again. I highly doubt the item trading aspect of Dota 2 will ever become as large as that of TF2. For one thing, the cosmetic change is extremely hard to notice, given that most of the game is played from a drawn-out perspective. Also, Dota 2 is much harder to get into than TF2, which will limit the amount of new players, especially who will spend enough time to be able to get said items. That's another issue I see with Dota 2. The fact that you have to actually get better to earn items, while more logical, will only deter those who aren't particularly good at the game from earning items.

unusuals and stranges are in dota2

additionally, the sheer volume of total items in tf2 and the fact that you can actually idle for your weekly quote automatically depreciates their value.

you clearly have no idea what you're talking about

also everything else you said was wrong too
