I'm thinking of getting it for some fast-paced shooter and for the addicting gameplay.

If you want to recommend something else, please do, under a 6 dollar budget too.

Quake Live fucks up on my computer for some reason. Already tried UT.
Any opinions on team fortress classic?

I still play TFC a lot, but it's not very new player friendly, as the only people that still play are old pros and people who have been playing for years and years.
