As a relatively new user to SOP, I was quite skeptical of the previous forum load-out and old-fashioned
appearance prior to signing up. However, this new forum features further user-friendly functionality and
an inviting feeling. Although, many users were used to the old forum functionality, I believe this was a
change for the better.
On a side note, my name is too long now 8’’(

Like, the old forums had a look specifically for SourceOP, different from any other forums I've been apart of. With SourceOP being THE place for buying/selling Unusuals and whatnot, and being the home of some the trading community's very reputable people, I just think this generic layout doesn't do SourceOP justice, ya know? Hope that makes sense.
I tried to say this earlier, only you described it better

Thank you for changing the forum software. What was the old one, 300px wide? Bleh. Now I can change the window width to create readable paragraphs and thread titles!
As far as themes go I think I prefer this look. This retains the logo, name, and color scheme. A good upgrade without a re-branding.
When I visited SOP for the first time I felt like I was about to contract e-aids from a geocities-blackhole. The only reason I stayed was the word of mouth. This looks more professional and I feel like I'm waiting for my dentistry appt. Just how I like it. Good job fellas.

Alright Im happy about the pic/text limit increase so here's the last of my feedback.
-Change the date of posts to the old sourceop format so its easier to read.
aka would be something like Oct 7th 2012, 02:41 AM
-I also think the site should be a little narrower like old sourceop. Not as narrow, but with this format and a 20 inch wide screen its a pain to read back and forth constantly. I always preferred everything focused in the center of the screen so it's easier to read. Maybe add like 200px of blank space on both sides of the forums.
-Also I think the left column which shows your avatar/name etc should be shrunk a little bit vertically. If I just write a one sentence post it still shows up as a lot of empty space below it because of my avatar and the other stuff. Its more of just a vanity suggestion but I'm noticing it takes a lot longer to scroll up and down a thread because of all the blank space on posts. eg:

SOP is also a forum, whereas outpost is not, thus the platforms are bound to be different. Seriously though, the theme is good enough for a forum and to be honest, I much preferred the older forums rather than these new ones, too complicated now.
Despite being the biggest cash based trading site and being a different platform than outpost and the likes the old forum platforum was obsolete and unprofessional that's not an opinion, that's a fact, I own and admin some big forums and I worked with similar platforms way back in 2002-2003, the forums were asking for a revamp for years. This is the best that could have happened. Just because it's older doens't mean it's better, that's a big logic flaw. You will get used to it and you will eventually like this forum more, you just don't atm because you were so used to the other platform and have to relearn some things.
I keep my thinking, this only needs a fitting and professional theme and it should be good
