Cool idea. One problem though is that the site does not update the contents of a player's backpack unless someone views it (and then only up to once per hour). So any twitter or facebook post would be delayed by that.

Changing it to constantly update a player's backpack could be an issue since there would be tons of requests. Maybe just people who opt-in to twitter automation? Even then, it would be a lot of requests.

Opt in then every hour or so it updates the cache? That could work for a little while, or else you could make it cycle through at x minutes per group of users.

but i dont think that facebook myspace or twitter could handle that or could they? it would probablly just make the sights slower for the people using it.

Uhm? Those websites are a lot bigger and more popular than TF2items.com. I'm pretty sure they could handle the load...

I like this idea, though if it doesn't get implemented, it's not too big of a deal.
