Is the selling of cd keys for $$ allowed here? Just asking.

A staff member has replied to your question:
Hello Pete, Thank you for contacting Steam Support. In order to investigate this issue, we must verify your ownership of the CD Key for Team Fortress 2. Please handwrite your Support Ticket Number ****-****-**** on the quick reference card or sticker above the CD Key (the number should not be written on a separate piece of paper or inserted with an image editor) and reply with a digital photo or scan of the CD Key in .jpg format. Please ensure that you submit a full-color image, rather than a photocopy. If you have any difficulty locating the CD Key on the packaging, please see the following link: http://support.steampowered.com/kb_artic...-WUSF-3601
Example scans: http://support.steampowered.com/images/f...cdkey1.jpg

After verifying your proof of ownership we will gladly assist you with this issue.
If you ever get your account disabled or hijacked, one of the ways of getting it back is by having the origianl CD key.
Butane Wrote:Game cd keys? or other software cd keys? (if other software I don't think so) Are you planning on shipping the physical keys/packaging via mail? A guy awhile back here on the forums (last fall) was selling CSS keys via emailing the key and got a whole bunch of his accounts disabled (like 7 or something) after valve disabled someone he sold to and that guy couldn't prove ownership because he only received a key via email and so he ratted the seller out. After this incident I specifically asked the admins but never did get a reply in the persons thread. I'm too lazy to look it up and link it for reference, so maybe wait and see what DF or Ibcicle says to finally clear this up.
