First things first, I highly enjoy playing on the SourceOp server and have been since tf2 came out. Drunken Fool, is a good admin and is readily available should any problematic issues with the server arise. However the reason I'm writing this post is to question the (his) method of how certain things get handled, in this case "kick"&" ban."
Here is how the situation went, were on the third level of Dustbowl on blue side (myself and Sergeant Balls) during the "setup" time. We happened to be on the right side gate of blue spawn, and Drunken Fool is in front of the middle gate. Sergeant Balls chucks a pipe bomb at Drunken Fool through the gate, who also happens to be crouched in front of the middle gate chuckin pipe bombs as well. However Drunken Fools pipe bomb which failed to get though the gate (in an attempt to use the exploit as well) rolled on the floor and killed him.
Following Drunken Fools death he immediately "kick bans" Sergeant Balls (for 5 min.) and replies with " testing new ban system"...My rift is the way he went about the whole situation. First he gave no verbal (or test) warning that shooting pipe's in setup time was a bannable offense, second he was also using the exploit at the time in which he accidently killed himself ("do as i say, not as i do"?). When was this "rule" instated, just then? how are players to know whats a bannable offense? There are no "Rules" on the MOTD (message of the day) on the server when you join. Not once have I seen Drunken Fool kick+ban anybody for doing that. And also kick banning one of the "regulars" which also happens to be #1 on the server.
Lastly, you can argue the fact that im defending an "exploit" which happens to be a valid point, and i have no defense against that. However when your using the exploit, and giving me the "why are you defending an exploit" argument, well, friend, its like "the pot calling the kettle black" its just not fair at all. Above all, i understand its your server and you can manage it anyway you like. But please give me a logical argument and not "this is my server and i run it how i want" cause at the end of the day, its Immaturity and tyrannical.
If i can suggest anything, please revise the methods in which you handle these matters.
