well if you drop it, it does help to specify its general location (eg it's in the enemy sewer)

Even if it does just give you the general direction to go to find the intel,
they have no real excuse to scream "WHERE IS IT WHERE IS IT" constantly.

They can just..maybe..oh i don't know..FOLLOW THE ARROW

Yeah, but blindly following the arrow isn't great either.

It is pretty damn useful though. On 2fort I always laugh when I see people covering both spiral and courtyard stairs, when they could just look at the arrow from outside of the main spawn and find out which path the intel carrier is taking.
