Oh, no. People still value unusuals for how they look. Any of the big collectors, or even people with nice hats will contest this. The thing is, there are two main reasons people only trade for profit on tf2op:

a) they are looking to use that profit to buy more unusuals they like
b) they are looking to just make some money (like you said)

It is usually a combination of both of these things. People who trade hats usually form an opinion on what looks the best, and keep those hats for themselves (unless they really need the money, then they cash out).

People that use tf2 as a second source of income really grind my gears. They are ruining the whole trading community just to make some easy money by sitting in front of the pc.
