Hello, I play often on the SourceOp 2fort server. I have had a strange problem come up that hasn't actually had anything to do with your server YET. So, some back story. Not long ago I accepted a friend request from somone on another server. It didn't take long before I started to get a really bad vibe from this guy and heard things from other people on that server. I have since unfriended and blocked him. Tonight, he started following me around server to server. He said he would follow me to every server I went on until I told him why. He was verbally abusive and threatened me personally. I stayed away from the SourceOP server tonight because I didn't want to lead him there. I have a condump of everything he started typing in chat once he realized I had muted him and couldn't hear him anymore. He has already been banned from 2 other servers tonight becuase of the things he was saying to me.

What I'm wondering is if it is possible to issue a pre-emptive ban on him? I have his info, name, steam id, and the condump I mentioned before.

I have contacted Steam about him as well, so his profile may get nuked anyway, but I don't like the idea that this guy would follow me to my favorite server Who should I talk to?

Only the server owners can ban a user in such a manor, if he does follow you onto a sop server to harass you, record a demo and upload it and ill make sure he is banned.

just FYI, threatening to kill someone over the internet is a federal crime, and they can receive jail time over it

source: wife's father was a high ranking federal prosecutor, and we've talked about that sort of thing before


i usually just report their account on steam, since it pretty much forces Valve to either do something to his account or turn logs over to the authorities depending on how severe the behavior is, and I'm a dick like that
